Overview of the Fruit of the Spirit * Galatians 5:22-26
The Fruit of the Spirit includes love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
These qualities are produced through a relationship with Christ * Unrelated to religion or philosophy.
The supernatural Fruit manifests as demonstrations toward God (love, joy, peace), others (longsuffering, kindness, goodness), and inward (faith, meekness, self-control).
Love is foundational, with each fruit representing an aspect of love’s expression—strength, security, patience, character, confidence, humility, victory.
God's supernatural Fruit is cultivated gradually through effort. * Think about growing an orange tree. * It requires patience and discipline.
The Gifts of the Spirit versus The Fruit of the Spirit
God's Gifts are Divine abilities given freely, not earned, and operate through the Anointing born from consecration.
Fruit develops over time through character growth * It does require cultivation and effort for us.
Gifts represent power; Fruit reflects character. Power without character is dangerous.
Character without Gifts is ineffective; both are necessary for effective ministry.
The importance of love (agape) as the primary fruit, which is unconditional, sacrificial, and born from God's Word.
Love is produced by receiving God's seed into the heart, cultivated through obedience, prayer, fellowship, and discipline.

Spiritual Growth and Discipleship
Cultivating fruit involves studying the Word of God, prayer, fellowship, and self-discipline.
Love is a commandment, central to discipleship, and encompasses all commandments.
Genuine love manifests in actions toward God and others, with the ultimate standard being Christ’s love.
The Greek words for love (Eros, Storge, Philia, Agape) highlight different dimensions, with agape representing divine, unconditional love.
Love is born from God's Word and received into the heart, demonstrated through obedience and service.
