The Fruit of The Spirit and Goodness
This Teaching emphasizes the importance of Goodness as a Fruit of the Spirit, highlighting its biblical foundation, how internal qualities manifest externally, and the necessity of living a life filled with Goodness through faith in Jesus.
Biblical Foundations of Goodness
The Bible links "Goodness" to The Fruit of the Spirit and God's nature.
Galatians 5:22-26 lists Goodness as part of the Fruit of the Spirit, alongside love, joy, peace, etc.
Ephesians 5:9 states that The Fruit of the Spirit is in all Goodness, righteousness, and truth.
Romans 11:22-23 emphasizes God's Goodness and severity, warning believers to continue in His Goodness to avoid being cut off.
Goodness originates from God, who is the ultimate source of all good things.
James 1:16-17 affirms that every good gift comes from above, from the Father of lights.
Goodness Definition:
Internal Heart and External Actions
What is inside a person will eventually surface outwardly.
Our heart reveals things in us like gossip, complaining, and even love .
Luke 6:45 states that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
The way we speak and act reflects our internal state; good words indicate a good heart.
Jesus' ministry exemplified doing good and healing, showing that true followers should emulate this behavior.
Doing good is a mark of Christian life and can influence others to come to Christ.
The Importance of Faith and Belief
Unbelief leads to spiritual devastation and being cut off from God's blessings.
Israel has been cut off for 2000 years due to unbelief.
Salvation and Goodness are rooted in God's Grace and Faith.
Romans 15:14 highlights that Believers are full of Goodness, knowledge, and faith.
Continual belief in God is essential for remaining in His Goodness; stopping belief results in being cut off.
Living a Life of Goodness
Christians are called to be different from the world by embodying Goodness.
Doing good to all, especially fellow Believers, is encouraged (Galatians 6:9-10).
Goodness is a value of The Kingdom of God , not just religious appearance.
Acts 10:38 shows Jesus' Ministry was characterized by doing good and healing.
Believers should strive to be good, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, like Barnabas.
Goodness involves forgiving others, not retaliating, and overcoming evil with good (Romans 12:20-21).
Practical Application of Goodness
Living out Goodness impacts personal growth and community.
Joseph's story demonstrates forgiveness and God's plan despite betrayal.
Doing good can elevate one from difficult circumstances, like prison.
Refraining from anger and revenge aligns with God's plan for righteousness.
Choosing to do good rather than evil leads to blessings and spiritual victory.
This Teaching underscores that Goodness is rooted in God's nature, manifests from the heart, and is essential for a Christ-centered life, impacting personal character, relationships, and community.
